THE ROLE’S MISSION

We seek a Network Administrator to support our hospitals, offices, and remote employees globally. You’ll join our Network Engineer in building out VEG’s network team. Your primary duties will include maintenance of computer network infrastructure, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE

  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, access controllers.
  • Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.
  • Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
  • Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • Advanced familiarity with network tools and cloud-based solutions/network protocols specifically Cisco Meraki is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Local Area Networking equipment, cabling, and protocols including routers, switches, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
  • LAN and WAN experience
  • Must be able to physically move, handle, and lift computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.  

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO

  • Monitor, support and maintain Enterprise Network and our VoIP Telecom infrastructure.
  • Assists with the creation of new hospital telephone and voicemail extensions, routing extensions to appropriate locations, and updating information as required.
  • Travel is required; typically for new Hospital Openings with occasional trips to remote offices around the country.
  • Assist our Network Engineer in enforcing network security as a priority throughout all of our networks.
  • Troubleshoot end-user issues as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of technologies and platforms supporting a complex corporate data and voice infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability of enterprise voice and data platforms that support internal employee business functions and external customer contact on a 24/7 basis.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate 1st & 2nd level issues impacting the operation of the corporate voice, network, and data infrastructure.
  • Available to support, troubleshoot & solve infrastructure/Helpdesk issues at all times while being required to jump on any and all issues pertaining to Hospital operations.
  • Flexibility to help support the day-to-day Helpdesk issues when the team is traveling to set up new sites & we are short on coverage.
  • Serve as one of the primary points of contact for telecommunication carriers + service providers and coordinate circuit design, provisioning, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with planning and implementing systems and network integrations.
  • Document the design, operation, and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures.
  • Ensure that all project work is reviewed and meets quality & accuracy requirements.
  • Assist with the maintenance of our disaster recovery/business continuity plan.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
